I could just imagine myself walking down 5th Avenue in this lovely outfit! Just look at that beautiful Chloé Python Bag, isn't it fabulous! Pair the lovely satin top with some skinny jeans and sophisticated boots and you'll be a reincarnation of Ms. Hepburn herself.

I'm so sorry it's been so long since my last post!
I promise I'm alright, I haven't died...
I've actually been quite the busy bee lately. I just started a new job and I've been working on my fall class schedule. I'll be taking a couple of archaeological classes
as well as a class on the history of Indian religion.
There's something so beautiful, exotic and seductive about India.
Everything is so colorful and spectacular with a history that is as complex and rich as it is deep.
I grew up in a town with an extremely large Hare Krishna population, the largest in the world, actually...so Indian culture has always been (somewhat) a part of my life. It is, to me, beautiful in every way.

been on a bit of a Indian-themed kick lately. Bangles, Sarees, Choli, Mehndi; I just can't get enough!

Me, On Broadway?!

Hello Lovelies!
This post is WAY different from what I normally write, but I thought
it would be cool if I let you guys know a little bit more about myself.
You all know that I love fashion, but you probably didn't know that my true passion is singing.

(Yes, this is me in the picture and this is about the extent of my photoshop skills!)

I'm not on Broadway yet, but I had to catch your attention! :D
I started singing in church when I was 4 years old and started taking lessons when I was 12. Charlotte Church was my idol, I wanted to sound just like her. People always told me that I had a "big"
voice, but I was so shy, I never thought I'd be able to perform on stage. I started out singing opera and I know songs in 8 different languages.
My dad took the family to New York when I was 15.
While we were there, I saw Phantom of the Opera and it became my dream to perform on broadway.
As I got older, my confidence slowly began to grow.

I'm in college now getting a degree in Anthropology, I graduate in December. However, I still sing everyday. My whole life, people have told me I wouldn't make it and that singing is a stupid profession to persue.
But I won't give up on my dream.
I'm not on Broadway yet, but I swear one day I'll make it.

Has Megan Fox Had Plastic Surgery...Again?

Hello Lovelies!
Not too long ago, I wrote about Heidi Montag and her plastic surgery fiasco. It appears that I may have a new lady to add to my list
of women who've gone a little...shall we say, "knife happy".
Rumors of surgery are swirling after shocking pictures of Megan Fox appeared in the UK Tabloids Famous and NW.

Her face, is absolutely terrifying.
She looks almost alien, as if her skin is stretched too tightly over her bones.
I'm not sure how credible these sources are, as I don't live in the UK and know nothing about these tabloids.
These magazines could be a step above The National Enquirer for all I know, but I simply had to write about this.

There is no denying that Megan is a beautiful woman...or at least,
she was. I'll be sure to follow up on this post as I learn more.
What do you all think? Do you believe the reports, has she really gone under the knife,or are these magazines better off used as something to
start a fire on a cold winter day?
(Ladies in the UK, please let me know if these magazines are believable or if they are complete garbage.)

Style Spotlight: La Roux

Hello Lovelies!
I've decided to start a "Style Spotlight" section on this page
to write about some of the most fashion-forward ladies in the entertainment industry today. I really love it when I discover a talented singer that I'd previously never heard of.
The more obscure the band, the better!
However, I'm not one of those people who freak out when those lesser-known artists go mainstream...(aka, when they "sell out").
I love it when these people and bands become popular!
To me, this new-found popularity means that there are more people who get to enjoy their amazing music.
This also means I can discuss the music I love with more people!

For example, I've been listening to Sia for ages.
(If you don't know who she is, be sure to check her out on youtube!)
I was ecstatic when I found out she'd be singing on the Eclipse soundtrack.
Needless to say, her popularity is probably going to skyrocket and she won't be the "obscure" girl I once loved, but it doesn't matter to me.
I'll keep on listening to her!

The same is true with La Roux.
I discovered her music early last year. As soon as I heard "In for the Kill" and saw her amazing style,
I was hooked.
This girl totally rocks my socks.
She completely owns her Pompadour hairstyle plus, her androgynous
clothing is classy, fashion-forward and intriguing.

Notice how she pairs bold prints with low key pieces.
A simple, tailored jacket works perfect
to tone down the statement pieces in her outfits.

Fashion and style are all about balance,
a delicate balance that can easily be thrown out of whack.
Loud pieces are meant to be the center of attention and should be
paired with items that complement them and don't draw attention
away from them.
Notice how La Roux manages to pull off the wild pants in the photo above.
The simple coat and sleek shoes are what make the outfit work.

Remember,
when putting an outfit together, only ONE part of it should completely
grab an observer's attention. If you opt for a bold shirt, pair it with simple
pants and minimal accessories...if it's printed pants, do the reverse.
Don't be afraid to experiment!
Fashion is all about expression, be yourself!

I love La Roux's music and style.

Hello Lovelies!
Happy Tuesday, I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the fabulous summer weather. I just traveled down to Melbourne to
visit my friends at the beach and have a girls-only Eclipse Weekend.
The movie was amazing, if you haven't seen it yet,
quit reading this, get in your car and drive to the closest movie theater.
Be sure to drive like a Cullen on the way.

ANYWAY, on to what I'd really like to write about.
It seems like Miss Miley Cyrus has been turning up in the news quite a bit nowadays...and never for the right reasons.
I'll admit, even though I'm in my 20's, when I wake up on Saturday mornings, I'll eat breakfast and watch The Suite Life of Zack and Cody as well as Hannah Montana...Laugh if you want, but
I know you do it too!

With all the buzz surrounding this girl, I have to
ask a few questions:
1.What happened to the old Miley we know and love?
2. Why is she suddenly anti-pants?
3. Why would any parent allow their daughter to act this way?
4. Is anyone actually buying her CD's?

Ok, we get it, you can't be tamed.
You're almost 18 and you enjoy showing off your tattoos and pencil-thin body.
But seriously, have you lost your mind?!
Miley, bless your little pea-pickin' heart,
(as we say here in the south)
I do believe you've gone off your rocker.

It seems as though our dear little Miley is on a mission to experience
everything life has to offer by the time she's 18.
Since when did "growing up" become synonymous with "becoming a slut"?

Pole dancing, lap dancing, lingerie shopping sprees and faux-lesbian kisses... this girl is on a fast track to become the next LiLo.

You Look Like Victoria, Eclipse

Hello Lovelies!
It's Part 4 of my Twilight Outfit Saga!
Today, we're on to one of the main villains of the series...
Victoria.
She's extremely beautiful, cat-like, and has hair so red it looks like fire.
She's also exceptionally cruel and vengeful.
The beauty she exhibits on the outside is merely a cruel irony in comparison to her wicked heart.

I think every woman has little Victoria in her.
I mean to say that we all have something in us that makes us strong and mysterious...our inner femme fatale.
Let's tell the truth, Victoria is pretty cool...to say it bluntly, she kicks butt.
She's strong and can hold her own.
When designing Victoria's outfit, I wanted it to reflect her personality,
so I gave it a somewhat militaristic vibe. It had to be something that would hold up against excessive amounts of traveling through harsh
terrain but still look stylish.
The back of the cobweb shirt is amazing and I love the Raven Skull
and Om Necklaces. I added a fox ring because of it's symbolism.
To Native Americans, the fox represented an animal that could lure a person to their demise, just as Victoria destroys everyone she comes into contact with.

This next character really fascinates me, she's very complex and until the last book, we know very little about her.
Rosalie Hale.

You Look Like Bella Swan

I was just too excited about this outfit to wait until tomorrow to
post it.
On to Part 2 of my Outfits for Twilight's Leading Ladies Saga.
(See Alice in my previous post.)

Bella Swan, the leading lady of the Twilight Saga.
We love her, we hate her, we see ourselves in her...
I really relate to Bella and see many of my own personality traits in her.
She's strong and opinionated and once she sets her mind on a goal,
nothing will stop her until she gets it.

I've always pictured Bella as a somewhat "Indie" girl.
Not necessarily a hippie, but a free spirit none the less.
I imagine her style as a mix between tomboy and classic chic,
not completely girly but not totally rugged either.
Of all of the outfit creaions I've shared on my blog thus far,
this one is my favorite.

New MAC Collection: Venomous Villians!

Hello Lovelies!
Exciting news for all of you MAC fans out there!
The new collection, Disney Venomous Villains is due out this September!
While I am not a huge fan of the packaging,
(it looks like something an 8 year old would carry),
I am still very excited about this collection.

With everything
priced between $12.50 and $29.50,
I do believe, I might end up dropping some major cash to
get my hands on these pieces, especially the Maleficent and Evil Queen lines.

I couldn't find any decent pictures of the packaging,
MAC has really cracked down on image leaking,

Make A Fashion Statement, Fight the Oil Spill

Hello Lovelies!
Happy Tuesday!
Those who know me will probably tell you that I'm
not exactly a radical, outspoken political/environmental activist.
Yes, I love wildlife and the environment and I do love a good political
debate, but for the most part, I like to keep
my opinions to myself.

However, here we are, 58 days after the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico
and still, no significant progress is being made
to clean it up or stop it.
Last night, the president finally made a formal address to the nation regarding the disaster. It only took him 2 months, but hey...he's a busy
man right?
Please!
I don't understand why Washington is dragging it's feet on the issue.
BP has done nothing but get in the way and slow down the process of the clean up, they should never have had this much time to fix the problem.
In the meantime,
people within the Gulf States, myself included, are having to sit
and watch as our beautiful beach ecosystems are destroyed.

I came across the shirt above on Polyvore last night.

Lady Gaga's Alejandro Music Video

Hello lovelies!

Men in stilettos, machine gun bras, no pants...
it's time for another Lady Gaga music video.

(These Images are the property of Interscope Records,
I do not claim ownership or rights to this pictures.)

I LOVE the Lady, but I have to be honest,
I'm really not a fan of this video.

The majority of the action
takes place in what looks like a military training camp...
dancers and extras sport Nazi-esque uniforms with Gaga as an
overseeing dictator.
The strange thing is, the soldiers are made to look similar to monks with their distinct haircuts.

Fast forward to to some strange scenes of Kama Sutra,
bondage, and Lady Gaga dressed as a nun.
There are a ton of religious references throughout the movie,
and while I'm not personally offended by any of them,
I'm sure quite a few people out there will be.

Altogether, the video is just odd.
I really don't understand it and it doesn't match the song
at all.
However, would we expect anything less than something
shocking from Gaga?

MTV Awards...Fabulous Style, Horrible Flops

Hello Lovlies!

As I'm sure most of you know, the 2010 MTV Movie Awards
take place this evening.
The red carpet is a place for the stars to gather
and show off their fabulous outfits.

This year, the celebs did not disappoint.
Sporting classic, chic and some unorthodox styles,
our favorite entertainers
made their way into the Gibson Amphitheater.
Lucky for us, the shutterbugs were waiting.
Fabulous designer pieces mixed with horrible fashion flops.

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Katy Perry looked amazing with an electric blue wig,
white winged eyeliner and an
amazing bejewelled mini-dress.
Everything about her outfit just works.
She's promised "lots of nudity" during the show tonight, which is
sure to get a fair portion of the general male population
to tune in.

LiLo on the other hand, was a train-wreck.
I'm not sure what look she was going for with this
awful low-cut, sequined bodysuit, but it looks like a reject from the back
of Cher's closet.
She should have taken some pointers from Katy on
how to pull off the sparkles.
Better luck next time Linds.

I'm not sure how I feel about Christina's Versace Atelier gown.
It reminds me of Christmas tree tinsel/fish scales/slutty
gladiator.
But I guess, in a weird way, she pulls it off.

Audrina Partridge looked lovely...minus the shoes.

Julianne Hough looked stunning in a simple, sexy LBD.
I'm in love with her clutch.

I'm not sure what to say about
Katerina Graham...
A picture is worth a million words in this case, and right now, they're all
screaming for her to go home and change.
Failed attempt at a Rihanna look...yes.

Out of all the pictures I've seen thus far,
I have to admit that Katy Perry's
dress is by far my favorite!
It's different and daring in all the right ways.

Too Much Venus...Too Little Clothes

Hello Lovelies!

Well, she's done it again.
Venus Williams has managed to cause a worldwide ruckus over
her tennis ensemble,
this time for the French Open.

Sure, she's known for her crazy style on the court,
but come on, seriously?
A French Maid inspired outfit?!
Pair lace with nude spandex,
add a crowd sitting at a distance and you are in for some BIG problems.

Flesh toned fabric underneath the lace led
many in the stands to believe that
Williams wasn't wearing anything underneath her scanty getup.

And let's be honest,
spandex underneath the lace or not,
very little was to the imagination of the shocked onlooker.
Now the whole world knows the intimate details of Venus' body.
Aren't we thrilled?

I don't care how fit you are,
I have no desire to see your half-naked body smacking tennis balls
left and right.

This outfit looks like a cheap
Halloween costume that was placed on the 95% off pimps and ho's
discount rack...
Fellow fashionistas, we can only hope that she didn't pay
more than $2.00 for this atrocity.

However ladies, there is a lesson to be learned here:
French Maid costumes are for the bedroom
not the tennis court.
And if you feel as though you must wear one in public,
it'd better be well made and your name better be Lady Gaga
otherwise, you aren't going
to get away with it.

Louis Vuitton Ads Banned in UK

Hello Lovelies!

Louis Vuitton learned a valuable lesson this week...
a lesson that many of our mothers
taught us as soon as we were old enough to walk.

*Honesty is the best Policy*

It seems that the people in charge of LV advertising thought it would be
profitable to
produce ads suggesting that each and every Louis Bag
is made by hand.

Doesn't the seamstress look angelic with her bees wax, thread, and leather tools?
I'm sure lots of TLC went into each and every painstaking stitch.
Cue the heartwarming music!

There's only one little problem.
Louis bags are not handmade, they're made (mostly) by machine.
LV claims that there are over 100 steps put into
producing each bag, and that hand sewing machines are necessary for
some aspects because this method is
"more secure and necessary for strength, accuracy and durability".
(Scratch the music, my dreams are shattered!)

The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA)
deemed the ads "misleading" and pulled them from the market.

Personally, I don't care how my
Louis Vuitton bags are made as long as they don't fall apart.
Obviously, if I buy this handbag,
I'll be able to put my leg behind my head like Madonna.
When did we all begin taking magazine ads so seriously?!

Although, I have to admit,
it's a million times more "poetical" believing that my bag was
made by "angel girl" in the first picture than like this:

Going Greek

Hello Lovelies!
I'm sure you're all at the movies this evening to see our favorite ladies.

Recently, I've had a real urge to travel the world.
I graduate from my University in December and I've been thinking about
taking myself on a trip to celebrate.

I thought about where I'd like to go for days with no luck. I ruled out Australia because it's so darn expensive to fly there.

Then my friend suggested Greece!
I can't believe I didn't think of that, I'm studying Classics at school!

I love Greek history, and it seems to be such a beautiful place.
Not to mention, I'd finally get to visit Europe!

I'm adopted, so I'm not exactly sure what my heritage is,
but so many people have told me that I look Greek.
That means I should fit right in, until someone tries to talk to me at least!

Here is one of my favorite sculptures based on Greek mythology by Bernini.
Apollo tries to abduct the nymph Daphne and to save herself, she
turns into a tree.
The movement in this sculpture is phenomenal.
Bernini truly made the marble come to life.

Have any of you ladies ever been to Greece?
What did you think?
Maybe you're from Greece. If you are, I'm dying to know,
do all the men over there look like the guys in the next photo?
If so, I've got a one way ticket on the next flight out of here!

I didn't think so, everyone loves to look like they've dropped a couple of pounds without having to spend hours at the gym!

In my opinion, pleats are a girls best friend!
Not only do they make you look taller, they also make you look leaner.
Thank your lucky stars because pleats are all over the runways this summer!

Just look at this gorgeous dress by Maje!
I just love the faded greyish-green color, it really gives it a vintage vibe. I'd pair this with some silver Grecian heels and a delicate arm cuff.

This beautiful piece is by Halston Heritage. The shimmer is so lovely, I would totally wear this on a girl's night out. It's very creative in that it features a faux drop-waist. The top layer of chiffon is completely separate from the bottom. Sara Jessica Parker recently wore this dress in the new film Sex and the City 2!

Phillip Lim is one of my all-time favorite designers.
Isn't this dress adorable?
Just look at the stud detailing on the shoulders!

This sexy little dress by Minx is sure to bring out the vixen in every woman! I am absolutely, 100% in LOVE with this dress!

The illusion that the lines create are sure to make even my petite 5 foot 3 (and a quarter!) inch self look 6 feet tall!

I Saw Sex and the City 2! Verdict...Fabulous!

Hello Lovelies!

I'm SO excited! I just got back from a premier early screening of Sex and the City 2!

A store in my hometown paired up with the local news station to provide a few of us ladies with tickets
to see SATC early!

I was lucky enough to get tickets!

The movie was FABULOUS and the clothes were to die for!
Of course, with a $10 million
wardrobe budget, why wouldn't they be?

Plastic Surgery...Practically Perfect in Every Way

Hello Lovelies!

I have a question that's been preying on my mind for the past couple of weeks.
In today's world, young girls and women are under an increasing
amount of pressure to look perfect.
Perfectly flawless skin, perfectly toned body, perfect curves.

Heidi Montag is currently enduring the barrage of public scrutiny after undergoing
10 separate cosmetic procedures in one sitting.
Crazy? Possibly.
She went from a perfectly beautiful to perfectly fake...in every way.

Even though she has been blasted by the tabloids for having so much work done,
they continue to criticize her for, can you believe it, her imperfections!
After this image of the starlet was released, the media went into a frenzy
with cruel headlines such as "Heidi Missed a Spot: Cellulite Picture".
Really, what has the world come to?
I have yet to meet a woman without some cellulite, even women of a healthy weight!

Here's a picture of an almost unrecognizable Megan Fox before she had a few elements of her face worked on.
She's definitely had a nose job as well as some possible jaw reconstruction and cheek augmentation. I'm not 100% sure about that last bit.

My question to you all is, how do you feel about plastic surgery?
Personally, I'm not opposed to it, as long as it's performed in moderation.
I've even considered having SmartLipo done on my abs and thighs after I graduate college.

Hello Lovelies!
I hope you're all having a wonderful Saturday afternoon!
I'm soooo excited because today, I'm packing to leave on my trip to the Pacific Northwest!
I'll be gone for ten days visiting Portland, Seattle and Victoria, BC!

Yes, I admit it, I'm a total Twilight dork. I'm a sucker for Vampires...no pun intended. Robert Pattinson is gorgeous.
And yes, I giggled like a teeny-bopper when Jacob took off his shirt in New Moon.
But can you blame me?!

As soon as I found out I was going on this trip, I hopped on Google Maps to see how far of a drive Forks was from Seattle...

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to make it out there since I'm going with my University and apparently, it's a 4 hour drive...if only I had a certain pale gentleman to drive me there in his silver Volvo...
Anywho...long story short, I'm not going to be able to write for a few days.
I can't wait to leave, I've ALWAYS wanted to go to Washington!

Do any of you ladies live out west? Let me know, what are some must-see things while I'm there?

Alright lovelies, let's be honest...how many of us girls didn't dream of looking like a Barbie one day?

The beautiful hair, the killer curves, the perfect boyfriend....who could ever ask for more?
Then one day we wake up,
we look in the mirror,
and we realize...

What's that little spot on my face there? Where are my curves?!

China Glaze Shopping Spree!!!
I'm so upset because I bought myself some lovely blue polish from Sephora for $8...and it stinks!
It started chipping the day I applied it!

So...I need advice. I seriously have a list of about 40 China Glaze colors that I want.

I know that I definitely want "For Audrey", a beautiful

Fall in Love with Oscar

First of all, I want to say thank you to all of my followers and to people who have commented on my previous posts. I've only really figured out how to work this blog thing this week and I already have almost fifty followers! I can't believe it, you all are wonderful.

Now ladies, I know it's a little early for this post, but when I saw Oscar de la Renta's line for Fall 2010 I just couldn't wait to write about it!
For years, it seems that us women have been forced to wear the drabbest of drab colors in the fall.
Browns, tans, creams, grays and the ever-so-flattering (can we say sarcastic?!)...pea green.
As if watching the world around us turn gray wasn't bad enough, we then have to clothe ourselves in the same mundane colors.

Never fear ladies! Oscar de la Renta is here to save the day (and our wardrobes as well) !!!
His fall line is beautiful, fresh and vibrant, full of bold colors and patterns!
This Pumpkin colored dress is my favorite!

As most of you probably know, I have a severe obsession with Gossip Girl.
I'm sure we'll see our dear Blair Waldorf donning some of these beautiful pieces in the near future.

The entire collection is so classy and chic yet subtly sexy at the same time.
He goes against the grain, using non-traditional colors to spice up the Fall season.

Sparkle and Shine

Hello Lovelies!
My idol Marilyn had it right, diamonds are a girls best friend...or at least they were. Right now, sequins are a girls best friend. In my opinion, sequins are like Brussel Sprouts, you either love them or you hate them...there is no in between.

I happen to love sequins, in fact I love anything that sparkles. Tiffany's? Don't get me started. The last time I was in New York, I think I spent close to an hour and a half roaming around the engagement rings. I'm happy to say that I picked my dream ring out of all that they had. Now I just need to find a man who's willing to drop $20,000 on a ring...but I digress.

You can only imagine how excited I was to see all of the sequins hitting the runways this spring! Sequined bags, shirts, pants, jumpers, leggings!!! This spring is a sequin lovers heaven!
Check out this beautiful top by Alice+Olivia, isn't it to die for? I found this on net-a-porter.com and I have to say that I love the outfit idea that they came up with. I'm a sucker for grey and gold mixed.

This top retails for $330, but I'm sure with a little determination I could find one similar that is slightly more affordable.

Tory Burch is one of my all-time favorite designers. She too has succumbed to the sequin craze. Isn't this top gorgeous? I love how the sequins accumulate at the bottom of the shirt.

While browsing online in a sequin-induced state of perfect bliss, I happened across a handbag that took my breath away. It looks as if it was plucked from the from the hands of a goddess! Oh, Valentino! Why do you tease me with insanely beautiful bags that I can't afford?!

Happy Earth Day Lovelies!

No Fashion post today!
Take a few moments today to look around you and appreciate how beautiful our wonderful planet is. Sometimes, it's so easy to take everything for granted and forget how precious this world is.

We are so lucky to be alive to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us every single day! Just look at this Alligator! I snapped his picture while I was out for a walk by the lake one afternoon two weeks ago.

He just looked so peaceful sleeping up by the shore, I just sat and watched him for a little while. I know many of my readers don't live in an area where you see Alligators so you might think I'm crazy for getting so close to him, but they are actually quite peaceful animals.

I feel so blessed to live in an area where I get to see such amazing, beautiful things on a daily basis. Enjoy a few more photos of my home and Earth as I get to see it!

This blog is a little bit different from what I normally write, but I have some important things to say to all of you beautiful women and girls out there.

Growing up was difficult for me, as I'm sure it was for many of you. I was a bookworm with glasses, braces and a pile of frizzy hair on my head. Everyday, I'd go to school and I was picked on and bullied by a group of kids who thought it was fun to make me cry. They were relentless and I began to believe that all of the horrible things they said about me were true. Maybe I really was ugly. Maybe everyone did hate me and maybe I really was stupid.

The words things that they said to me haunted me for years.
But ladies, I'm here to tell you that you are all beautiful. NEVER let anyone tell you any different. NEVER let anyone hold you back. There is nothing in the world that you can't be!!!

I want to introduce you to one of the most inspirational people I have ever been blessed enough to watch and hear. Her name is Kandee Johnson and she is a makeup artist. I was lucky enough to come across Kandee's Youtube videos while watching makeup tutorials one afternoon.
She was bright and bubbly and I just loved to watch her and hear her advice! Sometimes, I'd just watch her videos if I was having a bad day and needed a pick-me-up.
It used to be so easy for me to say: "Yes, my life is so hard! I was made fun of and picked on and blah,blah, blah." But I was so blind and self-centered! My life has been a cakewalk compared to some people, even compared to some of yours, my readers.

Kandee is always so happy and beautiful, you would think that her life has always been peaches and cream! However, this isn't true. Kandee has had an extremely difficult life, but she is such a strong person that she has been able to take all the hard things that have happened to her and turn them into happiness and joy that radiates out to everyone around her!

Sure, things might not always be sunshine and and roses, but without rainstorms, flowers never grow. Without trials, we never realize our strengths and without struggle, there is no appreciation for the blessings we're given.

It's the hard times, the trying times that build us into the women that we are. We can either break under the pressure of our lives or grow stronger because of it. Never be afraid to dream big and never let anyone tell you that you aren't good enough because ladies, each one of you are a miracle! Each one of you are unique and there will never be anyone else in the world like you. Take your thunderstorms and grow a garden of beautiful roses!

Alexander the Great

Hello Fashionistas!

As many of you already know, the fashion world suffered a great loss with the sudden passing of designer Alexander McQueen on February 11th of this year. Known for his bold, dramatic designs, McQueen acquired quite a following of devoted admirers. McQueen's designs captured the attention of world famous pop star Lady Gaga who recently wore one of McQueen's over-the-top outfits in her "Bad Romance" video.

Check out those heels, (affectionately called "Alien Boots")! Aren't they absolutely stunning?!

Alexander McQueen always pushed the envelope when it came time to create new styles. He was never afraid to take risks and try new things, which is why I am so impressed with his Spring line. I am in love with his contemporary twists on classic styles.

I adore this "Military Rose Degrade" Dress. Just look at all of the intricate details that are going on: the gathering, the one-sided high collar and the asymmetrical sleeves. This dress is to die for!

All of the pieces in this Spring 2010 lineup are equally breathtaking. It is completely impossible for me to choose which styles are my favorites. Snakeskin prints and gravity-defying details demand the full attention of anyone who is lucky experience one of these pieces.

Although it is unclear as to whether or not the fashion world will ever encounter another designer even remotely similar to Alexander McQueen, one thing is certain. Alexander will be sorely missed.

Orchids on the Beach

Let me begin by saying that it has been entirely too long since I've last written.

It's that time of year again. The time when the trees start bursting back into life, birds chirp happily, and the sun starts warming the air around us.
The time when we say goodbye to our winter boots, leggings and sweaters and say hello to showing our beautiful skin. Skin that is in desperate need of a relaxing day at the beach and a tan. It's swimsuit season.

I recently stumbled across an amazing site that I just had to share with you ladies! There is nothing worse than going to the beach or the pool in a bathing suit you just aren't happy with. Fellow fashionistas, take my advice: NEVER just SETTLE on a suit.
You should LOVE your swimsuit, it should make you feel confident and beautiful! I think that investing in a nice suit is a must. It is perfectly reasonable to spend a little extra cash on a stylish number that will last you for a few seasons and make you feel glamourous.

Spring is in the air and we all know what that means. New York Fashion Week 2010 is rapidly approaching. The City that Never Sleeps is burning extra midnight oil as it prepares for fashion's biggest event of the season. Runways are full of new designs that will set the tone for the clothing we all wear in the coming months.
In mid-September one of my favorite designers introduced his Spring Ready To Wear line and I am very excited about the collection. Yes ladies, I'm talking about none other than Marc Jacobs.

Known for his quirky yet stylishly chic designs, Marc Jacobs is ready to take our breath away once again. Always fashion-forward, his Spring RTW line is no exception. Full of ruffles, bold patterns, brocaded fabric, corsets and tailored coats, the collection calls to mind the classiness of the WWII Era combined with all of the whimsical nature we expect from Jacob's pieces.

We can all agree that fashion is cyclical. Those acid washed jeans you stashed away in your closet, your last ditch effort to hold onto your teenie-bopper days, are strutting their way back onto runways and college campuses around the globe. Even so, some vestiges of fashion history fade away into the oblivion of photos in large, old coffee table books, never to be seen or heard from again. However, it would appear that the topless bathing suit is not an item to be forgotten.
Forty-six years after it's first appearance, the topless monokini will be popping up this summer on beaches and cruise ships near you thanks to Victoria's Secret. (We should all take a moment of silence right now to pray that none of the women who purchased these suits so many years ago kept them plan on resurrecting their favorite "vintage" beach attire.)
When Rudi Gernreich first designed his infamous suit, fashion designers and shoppers around the globe went into an uproar over it's scanty coverings. In spite of this fact, thousands of copies of the suit sold when it hit the market. His innovation pushed bikini designs to new levels of experimentation, bringing us to today's "modern" bikini.
At $68, the Very Sexy Topless Bikini places a modern spin on the 1960's icon. It even comes with an optional bandeau top that can be placed underneath for modesty's sake. The VS website claims that the suit has a "cheeky bottom {that} is fully lined with minimal back coverage". Good to know, and here we thought all eyes would be on the front.
